These lightly spiced cookies have the sweet flavors of honey and orange. Honey keeps these cookies soft and chewy, making them ideal for the cookie jar.

  • 2/3 cup Butter softened
  • 1/2 cup Firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup Bee Well Honey
  • 1 large Egg
  • 2 1/4 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Baking soda
  • 1 tsp Freshly grated orange zest
  • 1/2 tsp Ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp Ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp Ground Cinnamon
Frosting
  • 2 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 4 tbsp Freshly squeezed orange juice

  • 2/3 cup Butter softened
  • 1/2 cup Firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup Bee Well Honey
  • 1 large Egg
  • 2 1/4 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Baking soda
  • 1 tsp Freshly grated orange zest
  • 1/2 tsp Ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp Ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp Ground Cinnamon
Frosting
  • 2 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 4 tbsp Freshly squeezed orange juice
Honey Orange Cookies
Instructions
  1. Heat oven to 350°F.
  2. Combine butter, brown sugar and sugar in bowl. Beat at medium speed until creamy. Add honey and egg; continue beating until well mixed, scraping bowl if necessary. Add all remaining cookie ingredients; beat at low speed until well mixed.
  3. Shape dough into 1 1/4-inch balls. Place 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 8-10 minutes or until edges start to brown. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheets; remove to cooling rack. Cool completely.
  4. Combine powdered sugar and enough orange juice for desired spreading consistency in bowl; mix until smooth. Spread frosting over cooled cookies.
